Here are the Jerome Le Banner tribute shorts by Venum fightwear. Jerome Le Banner, for those who don’t know, is a devistating K-1 level striker with nearly 100 pro fights under his belt. He’s knocked out the likes of Peter Aerts and Ernesto Hoost and is one of the most feared fighters in the kickboxing circuit.
So, now that you’re caught up on Jerome Le Banner and who you’ll be reppin’ by wearing these, let’s have a look at the actual shorts. They have a reinforced split seam down the side of them to allow for an un-obstructed kicking range. They’re also lightweight and have an external drawstring for a snug fit around the waist – which is ideal for grappling. However, with regards to grappling, something to take note of is the decorative flaps down the sides of the shorts that say “venum”. While they’re fastened on there well (they’re actually part of the shorts), there’s always the potential that they can be ripped off by your grappling partner.
So, for that reason, we would recommend these for Muay Thai/Striking training with a little bit of grappling rather than the other way around. If the majority of your training is centered around grappling, you may be better off going with the Hayabusa Mizuchi shorts or the Jaco Resurgence Shorts. If you wanted to stick with the Venom brand, then go with the Brazil tribute shorts.
